Cross-country skiing

My speed

Anyone who enjoys gliding on cross-country skis through the snow-covered landscape and the  dreamy Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region and who wants to explore the area while doing sports during their winter holiday can look forward to very well-tended trails in Wald and the region:

WALD TRAIL
7 km local trail in Wald and also – floodlit circuit slope at Finkenhof in Wald. Floodlit every evening until around 20.30.

PINZGAU TRAIL
Of particular interest among the various trails is the 'Pinzgau Loipe', which enables you to explore the entire Salzachtal area, heading to Krimml (and the world-renowned Krimml waterfalls) or to Mittersill and Zell am See. Return on the trail by ski bus or on the Pinzgau local rail service  – you choose.

KRIMML-HOCHKRIMML TRAILS
Enjoy the exceptional atmosphere in the Krimml WinterWonderWorld on the 200km  Pinzgau trail, or on the dreamily located panorama trail in Hochkrimml, which enables you to enjoy superb views to the mountains in the Zillertal Alps and the Hohe Tauern.

HOCHKRIMML ALTITUDE TRAIL
In the romantic setting of Hochkrimml at 1640m, an altitude trail awaits you. All that remains for you to do is unpack your cross-country skis and consciously explore the natural surroundings during your winter holiday.

To make it easier for you to plan your visit to one of our "freshly tracked" trails, in the tourist information office you can get the "Winter adventure map", which shoes the entire trail network (diagonal and skating trails), along with our winter hiking paths, and respective notes regarding difficulty levels.
